Feel stupid asking this... How do I take out the air filter?

I looked in the manual, on page 7-14 how to take it out. I took out the air duct, unclasped the metal clasps, then... I can't take it out. I feel like there's one more step. I don't want to force it out lest I break something in my engine.

The manual makes it look so simple but it's not, at least to me. What am I failing to do?

I guess just the filter, since I want to replace it.

Remove the cover for the battery, separate the air just enough so you can squeeze the filter out. I pulled out the corner closest to the battery first and it just comes out easy after that. you have to remove the batter cover to have a little more wiggle space.

After you release the two metal clamps, you need to spread the halves of the airbox while pulling on the filter. It's a tight fit...find a 2nd set of hands if you can't manage.

^Pretty much it.

With some good elbow grease, I got the drop-in filter in myself with no problems. Fairly simple swap. , good luck.

^spot on, it took a few minutes. it did feel like there was another step needed, but once I spread the air box apart, it was all good

It is really simple once you realize what is going on, but it does look a lot more complicated than it really is, and the manual is horrible. When I replaced mine it took a bit to figure out that you just pulled the thing apart, which seems pretty hacky at first.

ROFL! Maybe if someone took some pics of how to "manhandle" the stock airbox it may look less troublesome, I will try to take some pics this weekend of it, but yeah I guess u just need "man hands" lol

I can definitely manhandle it, I'm just afraid of snapping some part of the airbox. The last thing I want to do is break part of the intake!
