ATF Fluid?

What kind of fluid do I use that has a small canister in our trunk hidden behind the carpet on the right side? I am down to a minimum already and it says ATF on top of the cap. I know that ATF is related to automatic transmission fluid if I am not mistaken. What would you recommend? Although we have a twin clutch system and I am little confused here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The AWC uses ATF fluid, but more specifically Diamond ATF SP III. Not sure if any ATF fluid will do though, you may want to check with your dealership.

Also, on a side note, I have noticed that my AWC fluid is low only to find out the next day that the fluid level is fine.

you have to drive around and check the fluid level right when you get out of the car or else it will be too high or low. my tech had me check mine for a month after he replaced my acd pump. nothing like starting a recall!

the method to check the level of the awc would be........

.........after driving the car. park it , turn it off , check the level after about 2 hours.

You can use Mobile One ATF fluid. The back lists the compatability and Mitsu fluid is listed. It was around $8 for a qt. of it at AutoZone.
