I can't wait to see results. It's also great that you'll be keeping things updated and done in stages. We will all really have a great idea of what power particular mods make on this car. Will you be doing both 91 and E85 tunes or just all E85 when it comes to tuning with actual bolt ons?

Thanks,

Jalal
Most likely 91 for stage 1 and 2, then E85. I really want to see what the car will do on E85 with it all stock but just boost pill tune and obviously fuel system upgrades.

I will most likely end up doing both 91 and E85 tunes once I start throwing parts on the car but it really depends on time. It takes a bit of time switching between both fuels and making sure each fuel is 100% in the car before tuning.

I'm going to keep my eyes on this thread. The sst tables are awsome hopefully something could be done there to help with how much power we can add. Good luck Bryan!

UPDATE: Completed stage 1, 100% stock with custom tune today:

Had to do the baseline again as our dyno computer crashed and we lost the data.

This is a custom tune, the car is still 100% stock down to the paper filter. It also has no boost pill upgrade yet.

223 whp / 241 wtq

Boost after tuning: 18.5 psi peak (3200rpm), tapering to 10 psi (7400rpm)

Boost factory stock: 17.5 psi peak (3400rpm), tapering to 9.5 psi (6500rpm)

Factory boost solenoid is at 100% currently

This is now making about the same horsepower as a stock Evo 10 on our dyno.

Impressive. I love the torque. Is it making more torque then a X (stock dyno)? How many miles on the car? Does the Ralliart wake up to MIVEC changes as well?

Nice numbers!

Looks like the stock turbo starts to die out at about 6600-6700 RPM.

Yea a little bit more peak trq then the average Evo 10.

380 miles on the car at the time of the tune.

Mivec does help a bit as the factory ralliart mivec maps are very very conservative.

Updated the post above with boost data

So, +31whp & +31wtq with an increase of +1 PSI and other tuning? What about AFR?

What's next? I know you mentioned Evo X parts; are you going to move along quickly with the project?

Our boost pill upgrade is next. Then a test pipe with mini muffler upgrade (still with stock DP/CB) then retune.

Then E85 with fueling upgrades.

I will be upgrading the FMIC for the Evo 10 one sooner then later now after the intake temp data I saw during this initial tune, I'll post that data in a few...

So the stock intercooler isn't that great/effective with a tune?

Here is a WOT run 2nd gear through 4th and just into 5th gear, on the dyno.

You can see the stock FMIC is ok for all of 2nd and all of 3rd but then can't keep shedding the heat anymore once into 4th.

Temp at the MAF stays constant but the Manifold temp raises 7*F

In a single 3rd gear pull the FMIC can keep up but not back to back pulls.

Keep in mind this is on our dyno, which has pretty big fans but obviously can't simulate the amount of frontal air flow deep in to higher gears and higher MPH. However, a good FMIC can still handle this as I have tested them in the same conditions on our dyno.

When I get some time, I'll do the same pull on the street.

It should be interesting to see the same data once I put the Evo 10 OEM FMIC on.
