Besides the heat rating is there any benefit to going with metal over ceramic or vise versa for the HFC?

As mentionned by Bryan from GST Motorsports, the Metal HFC are the ones offering the best flow.

Ceramic ones are more restrictive.

CEL's will pop just depending on your cars reading of the ratios coming from the O2 sensor. If you buy the extension bung with jets from AMS before you install the HFC, you will most likely never throw a CEL. However if you do throw a CEL after the install of the HFC without the extension it can be fixed by getting a extension and then clearing the code with a scan tool.

I had purchased the AMS HFC without the O2 sensor bung extension and the next day the CEL popped up. I ordered my extension a few days later and went to the shop and installed it with ease and then cleared the code and havent seen it since.I hope this helps you all out.

I have the 3in Ceramic UR HFC on my car and as far as I know, both the metal substrate and ceramic hfc from UR come with an extension so no CELS. I too am happy with the UR HFC and even though metal may flow a tad better than ceramic, both are still much better than stock anyhow. Downside to ceramic is that it can crack, which I dont think is much of an issue with the metal ones, I could be wrong.

The combination of DP & HFC sound much better than the stock for sure. Not too loud.

I'll try to post video with sound later.
I agree, I have the UR DP/O2 combo and TP and it gives the stock exhaust just a bit more tone, especially at idle and low rpm.

If you try it in your gargae without all the proper lifting tools and minimum space, it will be difficult.

If you do it in your garage, Down pipe is very difficult...

For the test pipe (or HFC), it's a challenge but I wouldn't see it's difficult.

Thanks for the response, I am looking forward to hearing/seeing the videos.

Do you feel much of a kick in performance with these installed over stock?

Installing a DP or DP/02 would be difficult without a lift and the proper tools. I had 100k worth of snapon tools and a lift at my disposal and it was still a PITA.

From the Down Pipe I didn't notice much difference.

But once the test pipe was added to the mix, I could hear the turbo spool very easily.

Other than that, there seams to be more mid-range power. Enough that you can notice a change but it would definitely help to have 3'' all the way.

+1 for the lift. I tried to do it by myself using a floor-jack. But had to surrender, I lacked some tools (18'' extension and a flex for my impact gun). And clearance is a major problem when you work on exhaust using a floor jack.

I brought it to Canadian Tire (was one of the only places open on sunday) and it took less than an hour to install the down pipe. They refused ton install the test pipe so I had to do it at home.

I installed the test pipe at home using a small floor-jack and Mastercraft tools (no Snap-On ) and everthing went fairly well.

I agree with japan101. The extension bung will fix the CELL issue. However, the HFC I got from UR already comes with the extension bung.

So far, I don't really have any issue with CELL in my case.

Just have a few pics posted here for all to see.

Can we purchase and extension bung seperately? My WAR Test pipe does not come with one.

Thanks,
ZX
