Did the down pipe came wrapped like that?

I just bought one used and it wasn't wrapped. Is there any significant benefit to do so?

Thanks,
ZX

It wasn't wrapped when I bought it new.

But I wrapped it myself to minimize the radiating heat getting into the engine compartment.

Hum, then I should have done the same... Is it possible to cover the flange too?

I'm in Canada and winter are really bad on the bolts... Would help to protect it if it's feasible :P

my CEL goes on and off all the time from the O2 sensor, does wrapping the down pipe help that. I was going to buy the AMS extention to stop the CEL.

The CEL would be from the O2 Sensor seeing different A/F readings than what the car is programmed to accept. Wrapping the pipe shouldn't affect that as its intended to control heat.

It may be possible to cover the flange, but there is no point covering it.

If you're concerned about the bad winter weather on the bolts, try using the high corrosion resistant bolts such as 18-8 stainless steel grade bolts.

Is that hooked up to your stock exhaust? Any video clips to show us how it sounds?

Yeah. It's hooked up to the stock exhaust.

The combination of DP & HFC sound much better than the stock for sure. Not too loud.

I'll try to post video with sound later.
