Terrible Knocking from Rearend

hey guys. so today i heard the worst noise out of my ralliart ever. it sounded like the rear drive case but im not sure. it only sounds when i step on it fairly good and then let off. it only sounds when i let off during this process. doesnt sound when i brake, and downshifting doesnt bother it either. it sounds like metal on metal. i have a few mods but nothing crazy. and it just started today, also i hit the worst bump coming onto interstate yesterday, and it wasnt just a normal but, it sounded and felt like it coulda ****ed **** up. i am not very sure on much yet but i will take a better look at it tmrw. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

I remember hearing something like that once, sounded like it was coming from my rear end also... not meant to scare you, but when my transmission was changed the sound stopped. It seemed related to the losing of gears and clunky shifts, it sounded horrible, like I hit a curb with just the rear end and I could feel it through the entire car.

ive had that noise before, i think its normal cause when u let off it thinks it needs to downshift but then u get on it again it pops in gear

Tranny was randomly dropping gears, usually 2-4-6 but once dropped 5th. Occasionally after dropping gears it would put itself into neutral and I'd have to turn off then on to have any gears.

Thumbs up

I ask my friend to look and listen to my wheels. Found out my wheel in the front was making the noise, not the back. took my wheels off and saw the wheel spacer was cracked. Went to a wheel shop and purchased 4 spacers. Put them on and my problem was fixed.

alright well i think i figured it out. the other day when i hit that nasty bump my exhaust(ultimate racing) shifted a little closer to my drive shaft. and im assuming that when i would let off the gas my exhaust shifts somewhat because of back pressure and ****...idk...anyways when i would let off my driveshaft at the u joint would slap my exhaust and make the worst ****ing noise ever.
