Really. Go to a library and do the research on thier computers. Would you really go buy an SRT4 turbo if i said, 'yep! Fits like a champ and make moar powah!' Probably not. I hope not.

Do you have the 'someone selling one for like a hunnert dollahs and he be need an answer now' situation? Only that would (possibly) explain the cryptic (and whiny) cell phone post.

My $.02 worth.
Ok since everyone needs to know my business and why I can't do this myself...I'm in the middle of the pacific ocean working as a merchant mariner with hardly any wifi contection on a cell phone...the ralliart platform will never grow with out new ideas and searching to see what is possible and what is not. My thought process was that both motors are devloped unded the gema? Platform. I just didn't know the differences between the two motors. That's where I needed help to see if similar exhaust manifolds were used and if an easy bolt on was possible...guess not thanks again and enjoy the snow back home...

Courtesy is courtesy. That's all I was saying.

As for people growing the community: We already have a lot of people working on this sort of stuff.

But for, what appears anyway, to be a question about swapping our turbo with an SRT-4... my question is: Why? If you want to take our stock turbo apart and upgrade the compressor (CRBD), that's great. If you want to upgrade to an FP (AMS), awesome. If you want to install an EVO X turbo (as with almost every notable tuner... most recently GST), perfect.

But why on Earth would you want to grab a turbo from a completely different (and dated) platform just to experiment and see if it works? And if that was what you were asking, why not just ask that? "Has anyone heard of anybody installing an SRT-4 turbo in the RA?"

Hum, not a turbo expert, but I think the question basically comes to "Are they using the same turbo housing?" If so, this should fit.

If it fit, then the next question, will it sustain higher boost than the Ralliart stock turbo?

If it does and you can get one for a price worth trying, then why not try it.

If the housing is the same but the internal are "better" it might be worth it.

Am I right or I missed something???

As for your question, I believe I answered it very concisely: No, the SRT-4 does not have a 2.4 liter version of the EVO/RA engine.

As far as I know, the larger Volvo TD04HL turbochargers will fit on our cars. I believe that the S60R had something like a TD04HL-19t, which is a pretty decent sized compressor. However, I don't know that for sure. I wouldn't take a risk on one of those, either.
Wasn't the TD04HL-19t a European market turbo? I hadn't had much sleep, so may be confusing Volvo patforms.

Maybe, but apparently FP sells them.

I believe that they are talking about the Volvo 850 in that thread, which has a td04hl-15g or 18t...I can't remember which. The point is that they can be had stateside. It is manufactured by MHI, but the application is in fact a Volvo of some kind. I may have been mistaken about the model, though.

I wish that CBRD or FP would chime in on this. I wonder if it would be possible to swap in a 19t cartridge in the RA stock turbocharger. I don't know enough about this to say one way or another.

The cartridge will fit by machining the housing. No idea how a 16t, 17t, 18t, or 19t would alter flow characteristics though.

FP used to offer I believe a 19T upgrade for the stock WRX turbo, I don't see it on their site anymore. I never saw any impressive numbers from anyone using one, though, maybe 250-275whp-ish. They still list the 19T CHRA on their site, and as indicated in the link to the Volvo thread, the stock turbo should be able to be machined to accept it. I'd sooner consider something like the CBRD RAD for an OEM-based upgrade though.

Sorry for the old bump, but i thought it would be better than raising a new topic on the td04hl# upgrades.
I have done some measurements and there is an Saab & Volvo upgrade kit that kinugawa JPN sells would fit onto the ralliarts. i know that the WRX guys rave about them as an upgrade, i have met a few here in Aus and they are as easy as bolting a new turbo on to your exhaust housing. that being said, they still don't flow as much as the RAD lite so don't expect the flow of a garrett GT30# but they spool up just the same and hold longer in the mid section. they flow at a advertised rate of 500cfm

i have a Ralliart, i was going to upgrade to one of these but after umming and ahing i will simply save up and buy an evo x cast mainifold, GT3076 for evo x, bellmouth down pipe and be done with it.
