sadly, almost anything you do will void your warranty. if your worried just keep clear of the dealer and only do mods that are easily undone just in case you need warranty work. alot of people do the gst flash with boostpill. it makes a huge diffrence and is easily undone.

I really wish people would really understand what they are saying. Putting an exhaust on your car will not void your warranty. If the part you put on the car CAUSES the issue then the dealer will not cover it. If its unrelated to the issue then they can not deny your warranty claim. They might try, but anyone with a backbone and some smarts can get it covered.

It's true what DaJackson is saying...
I had a TWM short shifter on my '07 Eclipse GT. Last year, my 1st & 2nd gears would pop out under deacceleration. It probably had to do with racing abuse and really jamming through the gears (1/4 miled the car quite often).
Regardless, they didn't even question it. They changed both gears under warranty and I didn't have to pay for anything. They didn't even mention the short shifter and said there were no signs of abuse.
Even if you reflash, they probably won't ever know and the boost pill is almost undetectable.
If all of a sudden some sort of relay or sensor is throwing a code, it will for sure be covered.
I mean if you swap an EVO X turbo + upgraded FMIC, UICP, LICP, CAI, full turboback, upgraded SST clutches....hahaha....they may not cover it. But if they can't prove the upgrades caused whatever warranty issue you are having, they have to honor the warranty.
Plus, don't be shy to befriend the service guy at your dealership. It's my 2nd car from them and they have always treated me well. Bring them coffee's in the morning when you service your car, or donughts

Some good advice here, but most important is what is your local dealer's opinion?
Our warranty manuals are pretty clear that changing your software (reflashing the ECU) is not covered by warranty, and in general most Mitsu dealers would probably classify that as abuse. But what would give them the motivation to try and check to see if your ECU had been reflashed? If they don't have a reason to check, they probably never will.
On the other hand my dealer's postions is that just about any other bolt on mods that don't involve reflashing the ECU (like exhaust) will only void the warranty of that part (i.e. warranty pertaining to your exhaust is no longer valid) unless it obviously results in damaging the car.
A drop in filter like K&N certainly won't void your warranty but might help the motor breath a little better, but you won't feel the change. Couple that with a decent cat back exhaust, and you might actually be able to feel a little more power. That would be considerably more conservative than a boost pill and ECU reflash, but then it is also considerably more conservative from a warranty perspective as well. You just need to decide what (if any) risk you can tolerate.

But in in our real world chances are that no matter what you say or do they will void it and to fight back will be more cheaper to pay for the fix than paying a lawyer in most cases.
Nope, just had modified vehicles for 10 years and never had a legit warranty claim denied.
You dont need a lawyer. You just have to be smart and know what your talking about.

just be careful, if you mod your car theres a chance it will void your warranty because if you have any problems chances are is because of them. im just warning you, all dealerships are diffrent, technally modifiying your car will void your waranty (in your manual) so the dealer has the right to do that. BUT most dealers wont unless they really think that your modification caused the problem
go speak to ur service manager in person, theyll tell u what mods they dont mind like catback, uicp, fmic. just speak to them personally if they say no mods then go ask another dealer. if ur worried about warranty either dont mod or only do mods u can reverse easily
dajackson is absolutely right, as long as it is not directly affecting the part damaged or broken they must honor the warranty and fix it. Anyways if ur looking for the injen cai, i will be hopefully taking it off soon for my x swap. So ill sell her to ya. but to get back on topic. the RA only mostly has the short rams, and i believe it only has the injen cai. Unless you relocate the battery to the trunk, in that case i do believe you may fit any of the evo x's cai. Please correct me if im wrong, but i do believe im right.
