Has Anyone Tried the New UR Long Downpipe?

Anyone tried out the new UR long down pipe with divorced waste gate design yet?

http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...Downpipe.shtml

Anyone?

Seems like this should be the ticket, but would like to know if any other RA owners have tried it yet and what results are like. I'm a little concerned about the noise factor, and of course any fitment or compatibility issues.

I know CP-E has a long down pipe planned for the near future, but I believe it should be not be the same divorced wastegate design, rather I believe it will be more like the AMS bellmouth design for the Evo X.

Any thoughts?

Thx...

Great to hear. Is the sound from that area any louder than the stock down pipe/o2 sensor?

I don't know about just the downpipe, I replace the whole cat back system at the same time
Before: UR short dp - UR HFC pipe - custom cat back without resonator
After : UR u2 dp - UR HFC pipe - UR single exit cat back with resonator
The old setup is a louder than the current one

i really wanna get it and try it out. but i cant see it be dramatic enough to be more than double the price. i can get the short pipe with bung and an aem gauge for the price of it. i'll pass....... for now! lol

I ran the divided 02 down pipe on my X back in the day. Here is a before and after dyno comparison with no other changes:

Notice it picked up power everywhere... Yes, this is on an X not a RA but the point is the gain was due to improved VE / reduced turbine back pressure. I would expect to see similar percentage gains on the RA turbo, and Great gains on the CBRD RAD turbo with a good divided housing.

Thanks for that very informative and relavent post Mad SB! That is very helpful.

I can see that your dyno results show a peak increase of ~10 TQ/HP, but more importantly the entire powerband moved to the left.

Although only a modest increase in actual power shown on the dyno, I'm guessing that with the added TQ at lower RPMs, that added TQ could actually be appreciated in the "seat of the pants" dyno!

I was thinking on getting the long downpipe over the short downpipe. But then I looked at the turbo outlet and decided to get the short.

The stock turbo housing is one big hole and if anyone purchased the long downpipe the separator for O2 would cause restrictions. I am assuming that the long is for a aftermarket turbo that actually has a separate O2 housing. The stock turbo takes the entire opening with the shorts wide mouth opening for better exhaust flow and no restriction dividing the O2

Your backwards. A divorced dp will always be more efficient, and therefore produce more power, than a widemouth.

i was backwards:/ after reading more on it. you do get 5-10whp gains because there in a wide mouth you have turbulence building up in the bubble of the widemouth. with the divorced pipes there is no turbulence and the exhaust flows normal causing no lag.

There is debate if its worth it on many factors because of cost. 200$ for 5-10whp is not worth it in some eyes. It is worth it to get it when you get a larger turbo because you are pushing more exhaust through so you need the bigger bore. All comes down to what your plans are and what you want.

I am going to stick with the short one for now, because i cant afford the long one and maybe 6 months from now get a larger turbo then upgrade to the long down pipe.

I have the UR long Downpipe and it shows a much better improvement than the short one on a Dyno.
