Mine is usually anywhere from 16 to 19 vac at idle..little less when warming up. You may have a leak...where did you tap the line into?

im guessing i have a leak...

what is your car idling at RPM wise? does it look like they are bouncing at all? kinda like a misfire almost?

usually if you have a vac leak the car wont idle correctly. You will notice when you are just letting the car run (idle) and look at the RPMs on your engine RPM gauge they will bounce a little bit almost seems like stalling a bit.

also out of curiousity -- what is your boost reading at WOT? 18?

when im driving... the numbers jump like crzy..
but i leave the car running ... the idle stays at -10. does not move.

WOT= ?

idk most it hits 19. if i hit the gas.

check the RPM on the tacometer (factory gauge on the left of the electronic display screen), that is the gauge that reads the RPMs of your engine at idle (no throttle and have your transmission on P (park) ). what is that gauge reading? Also listen very closely..put your ear up to your boost gauge and hear if you hear a faint whissing noise...like air is coming out behind the boost gauge where the line is, i havent used a electronic gauge, I use mechanial ones check the boost line where you tapped into the line and where you hooked it up to your boost gauge and see if you hear any whissing noises...that could be your leak.

good choice on gauges but a wideband would be better but you are headed in the right direction, an EGT is better than nothing. as for the cat...ceramic will probably be the same as a steel one...Florida doesnt have much for emission laws so you dont have to worry about the ceramic cat deteriorating and not passing an emissions test.

when i start up my car.. and engine is cold... tacometer read 1k.. but then while engine keeps warmin up the tacommeter at idle goes down.... to the 3 little bar before 1k.
also u hear a weird noise.. like if there is a stereo (a base sound hittin) bump . bump bump =/
i did not RPM becuase its night.. n neighbors sleeping =/ ill see tomorrow.

but my gauge is electronic and vacuum hose is almostright under the steering wheel. so ill rpm wit my hand n hear the noise if there is one..

one thing tho.. when im going slow.. and i hit the gas.. i hear this Whissle (air) sound... i thought it was the Air or something... but idk now.. getting scare i have a leak =[

if the ceramic costs less I would go with that one, its just not as strong as the metal one, but Florida doesnt have an emissions test so you can go with the ceramic and not have to worry about it later. I used to live down there...people could drive trash cans on wheels spewing smoke everywhere and get away with it.

yes iseen that lmao. but which one u think is louder? i dont want my car to be hella super loud...
like the DC Sport dual catback.. is amazing.. (very good exhaust) there is no rattle inside the car... n sounds just perfect.. not too loud.. not too soft. i kno the HF cat will make it louder.. but if one is quieter than the other one.. i prefer the quiet one lol :P

did you hear this "bump bump bump" before installing the boost gauge? I think your leak is at the point where you spliced into the vac hose or in the back of the gauge or wherever you have that boost line going to. put your ear up to those 2 points where your boost line is and see if you hear it sucking air in...it will be a faint sound but still noticeable.
