Preliminary Dyno Result

So I'm in the midst of my E-Tune with AMS.
I just recently installed everything in my signature (see below) and did some logging with a very conservative base map provided by Cobb.

Here's the Virtual Dyno result of my first pull with the stuff on my car/base map.

Can't wait to see what I'll be getting with a proper tune...should have a revised tune sometime before the end of the week. I'll keep posting dyno graph's for every revision.

Baseline run with base map tune:

With revised tune v1:

Jon definitely knows how to milk EVO/RA for all their worth
BakaUnchi for those who are curious to see his new work

Haha, that's what I'm hoping for! I roughly estimate when I increase the boost to 21-22psi I should get about 280whp/315wtq. Anything over that would be an awesome bonus. I'm really hoping to try and get as close to 290whp/320wtq as possible.

Hopefully I can have more results posted before the end of the week.

Side note for all the do-it yourself'ers out there...

Getting the down pipe off (including the portion behind the turbo) and putting the long downpipe on with the 02 housing. Be prepared to say "F*CK!!" and "Stupid thing, dammit!" a few times.

I just received (in what seems record time) the revised tune from Jon. I'll load the map when I leave work in an hour or so, datalog and virtual dyno it when I get home. I'll post the new dyno sheet in my first post under the other one.

+12hp/-9tq from basemap to first tune revision. My boost peaked at 25.05.

Update: Changed tuners. Wasn't getting any response back from Jon Drenas so I've switched to an AMS E-tune (with Mitch, awesome dude).

Their basemap has proved to be significantly better then where I left off with Jon Drenas.

Latest Virtual Dyno run from my base map with AMS. A long way to go still and I already feel a big difference.

What's up with that new boost curve?

You have much more area under the curve with less boost now though.

Good start.

Subscribed. I have basically same power mods as you minus the HFC. Im currently doing a E-tune with Bryan. How come you arent logging AFRs?

No wideband installed. I didn't change my intake so I didn't need a wideband. AMS (and most of the big tuners like Bryan) have maps already made for common bolt-on mods. If ever I change my intake, I'll definitely have to get one. I mean, ideally it's always best to have one on but not 100% required for this.

All that being said, AMS stage 2 is a little less than the mods I'm running and that's about 280whp/310wtq. I'm ultimately aiming for 290whp/320wtq.

Fingers crossed. I should have the next revision tomorrow. Mitch from AMS is really reliable and got this base map to me less than 30 minutes after I paid for the service.

Yeah, I'm really excited about it. The results and feel are much more significant than where I was with the Cobb e-tune.

The most dissapointing thing is I can't get E85 here... but I have 94 octane at least.

That's pretty good lookin. I'd probably expect more HP at that level, but you're not done, so it's probably going to end up being closer to like...270hp? Anyhow, looks funny with smoothing set to 1 in virtual dyno, I always set mine at 2 or 3 so it looks a little less "choppy".

I didn't care for the boost curve or torq/hp on the first post, but these latest one do look better. It'd be cool if you could hold the boost more and keep torque up past 5k rpm, but I guess if the turbo gets maxed at that point, then it's as good as can be.

My one thing though...I do feel like you ought to have a wideband, even though your intake hasn't changed. As far as I can tell, you want to get your AFR's in that meat area (11-11.5), and I know the tuner can do it via the Dyno (meaning wherever it makes the most power without knock) but seems like it would be easier to have one, and maybe safer so you can tell if you're running too lean at some point.

It's definitely the first thing I plan on doing next Spring but for now this will have to do.

I know that AMS said I should be looking at at least 280whp/310wtq but should be able to get more.

This is only the base map to start with. So I'll have to see what he comes up with tomorrow after our first revision! I'll probably have another Virtual Dyno up tomorrow for revision 1.

You should do overlays after each revision to see how it's changing.
