Software mods that are not performance related.
Since basically everything in the RA/EVO is controlled by the ECU and related CPU's -is there any other mods that have been hacked and tried out?
For example ABS or ASC tuning/disable ?
Interesting if the Tarmac/Gravel/Snow timing could be tuned.
Also the fact that ASC is never completely shut off. ASC should definitely be hacked so that you can disable it totally. (Off Off mode on the RA).

2nd, They barely figured out how to do it with the Evo 8/9 on the ACD tuning. ACD isn't like the Subie setup how the percentage. Its the on off Delay to the back wheels if that makes since. Watch a video on youtube about how changing Tarmac to Gravel ...... makes the power delivery different on track and watch how he understeers vs Oversteers on Tarmac.
I might be off topic but correct me of I'm wrong
Ok, and "off off on the EVO turns off the AYC which is not present on the RA.
But ABS can not be turned off by the driver.
The core of the question is still "Is there any other software mods"
One thing I would like to turn off is the annoying fasten seatbelt reminder for example :-)

Lol :-) Guys ... Yes, I could also disconnect the chime... but thats not the point
The question is still if anyone has tampered with other parameters than the performance related ones such as in the basemap...
For example the seat belt warning.

You have it a bit backwards. On the Ralliary we have ASC 'ON' and 'OFF/OFF', we don't have 'OFF'.
As for ABS, I've only ever hit it once on a track, due to having severely overheated the system throughout a 110* track day.
As for software mods, dig through EvoScan website and related threads, I believe some of them are in the works as we speak.

You can buy a replacement acd module for $$$, search through the older threads.

I don't think you've got yourself a straight answer yet.
Let me try...
No, I can't think of any ROM mods that fit the bill of "non-performance related". TephraXMod has map switching and KnockCEL, but it's arguable people wouldn't use/need those unless they were looking to maximise the performance/safety of their tune.
As to why there hasn't been much in the way of "non-performance" ROM tweaks...
From where I'm standing, the ECU's engine management processing (fuel, spark, MIVEC, egr, boost, etc.) is heavily table-dependent. Less code, more tables. And tables are "good" for all sorts of reasons. An EcuFlash end-user can view, comprehend and edit a table without needing a deep background in IT.
I think it's likely that the sort of stuff you're thinking of has more code, less tables. And that makes it a real challenge when working backwards from raw disassembled ROM.
I'm still just starting out with this stuff - I get totally lost trying to follow things like DBW throttle control. Yes, there are still some tables, but there are huge areas that are just a sea of code. Each time I get in there, my brain explodes.
Also, some of the work may not be done by the ECU at all - it's not the only computer in the vehicle.
Having said that, there are some smart people who have been working with these ECUs for a long time. You never know...

Thanks Rich , that's exactly what I was curious about.
It's easier to disassemble tables than seas of code still many of the functions must be flags, on/off states or timers so they should be able to find and also change through the Tactrix interface. You are doing a great job with the reverse engineering of the code.
