blue and black 3 Ports

Just FYI on those 12v/5.4w blue and black rectangle 3 port boost solenoids...

They are just MAC valves, you can get them for $20-$40

MAC Valves, INC
Part# 35A-AAA-DDBA-1BA

Add the Evo 8-10 BCS connector that can also be found online for $7.00

and you have the same plug and play controller for less then half the price.

The more you know....

I still prefer the pierburg German Solenoids sold by Tactrix and a prodrive

I still think it's funny how people go gaga over grim speed solenoids when they appear to be the same $20 part

I don't know enough about solenoids to be able to pick the right one, hence going with GS. Mine works. It is on car #2. I can't complain.

Yes but not really the point of the thread. Just giving info to make more educated buying decisions.

Everyone has their favorite 3 port. I prefer GM's (the auto maker, not grimmspeed)

What exactly does a 3 port do?

It is for more accurate (than manual) boost pressure control. They should really call it a 2-port, because almost no one runs the third line.

I do...I think
But yeah, it's bleed vs interrupt (psst, interrupt is better)

It allows for the Ecu to precisely control boost mapping 3 dimensionally with competent pro tuning while using lower duty cycles and having more range than the factory solenoid or in the Evo x's case, dual solenoids, which on the X are replaced by this single unit.
