I did read a review that called Evo X S-Sport "brutal".

But, to be honest, I tuned the v30 SST setup * to try to get the most out of NORMAL and SPORT. The Base Maps are aimed squarely at stock Ralliarts. Well, we do have Bryan's variants for "TBE" and "TBE-AEM" breathing mods, but you get the picture.

Well, not really. There is one S-Sport table only - the "Throttle Requested Torque Ramp Rate" percentage-based 3D table. That dictates delta-clutch-pressure in response to delta-throttle. Nothing else on the ECU side cares about transmission mode, as far as I can see. Surprising, but true!

The changes you feel in harshness are all SST-internal. The TCU must have different approaches to shift speed, clutch pressure, etc. But the ECU isn't driving that stuff at all.

What this means is... if S-SPORT is "too harsh" for you, but you want/need to use it anyway (for whatever reason), you're going to have to soften the ECU's SST tables yourself. ie. lower the CPRU and/or requested-torque base tables via EcuFlash. It will soften NORMAL, SPORT and S-SPORT.

Be prepared for countless reflashes, lots of trial and error, and plenty of frustrating side-effects, lol.

Wow, cool, so there's nothing inherently LC-sabotaging in the v30 ECU-side SST tune. Brilliant. And completely accidental!

*[edit] Sorry, that sounds conceited. More accurate to say, "I and about 50 lunatic beta-testers took Bryan's SST tune and tested all five billion possible data combinations...". There, that's better.

Those that installed and used the files available online for the MUT3 software did you run it via MUTStart.exe? I can not get it to run through the icon that was installed on the desktop but going via the MUTStart.exe icon shows a different screen then what is on the video on the first post.

Thanks all

S-sport installed and working 100%! 2010 Ralliart, Pro-tuned by Cobb, flashed with b001.cff. if anyone is interested in renting a vci, contact me via pm.

A big thanks to crak for the how-to, and everyone else involved in this discovery

2011 Ralliart: Flashed with the 001 File

Results:
LC works fine in my car with no studdering or feeling weird.... S-Sport is hella aggressive with the SST tables I currently have now....

It's too the point where when I give the car Part throttle.... It snaps necks and slaps the Rear diff =)

Gave a test drive to a friend that has an evo.... I didn't tell him what I did and he noticed it RIGHT away.

Shot in the dark since I used had a dealer flash my TCU, but has anyone attempted to flash the TCU using the MUT3 software and a Tactrix cable? Wondering if Mitsubishi's VCI is absolutely necessary since the software is floating around somewhere.

The MUT3 software won't do much without a VCI attached to the computer. it just wigs out when you try to select certain options.
