Transmission question

Not sure if this should go in here or general, sorry. Still new to the site. I've been reading through various threads and seeing that a lot of people had transmissions fail and need replacing, or at least it seems like it, maybe it only seems that way because I'm looking through only those threads. I'm looking into a used 2010 with 27,000 miles on it and am worried that the same thing might happen to it. Are later model years safer? It has a year left on its bumper to bumper 36,000 mile warranty and I could purchase more. When I test drive it are there things to keep an eye out for?

Find out if it has been serviced. Also buy extended warranty if you can for sure. Things to look for or feel for is jerky as hell shifting, excessive clutch slip, and strange noises coming from the teams itself. You also might wanna have a qualified or knowledgeable mechanic check over the whole thing.

It's coming from an actual Mitsubishi dealership so I guess that's a plus. What does clutch slip feel like?
