cracked manifold time for a new one

Bad News:
Not confirmed yet if its the cracked manifold or exhaust leak around there.
I know its some kind of leak though. Car sounds raspy as heck.
Opened the hood and feel air around the heat shield area and see a little smoke.

These evo x and ralliart exhaust manifolds are so weak compared to the evo 8's.
I'm reading so many of our manifolds cracking. EVO 8/9's had their hood vent directly at the below it. Where rain water would just dump on top of them. I guess it would also cool it better too...

Good News:
I already have a evo x turbo kit, and just ordered the install kit. After I decide on what intake option I want to do and which o2 downpipe to use. I will be upgrading to the EVO X turbo. I still hope its just loose bolt or something I feel rushed that its an emergency. I will check it out this weekend by taking the heat shield and inspecting.

I think I'm going with a UR long downpipe and the CBRD intake.
Probably have CBRD tune and install everything.

So this is major install without a lift. Anyone going to do this its going to be a long weekend!
I started Friday night after work. Prepped the install by: Removing splash guards, heat shields and bumper. Then soaked all the manifold bolts and o2 sensor bolts. Saturday 9-6pm of pain. Cuts and scrapes galore!! However, I was able to remove and install the new turbo.
Sunday, I was finished up with the intake assembly and reinstalling the heat shields and bumper after I checked for leaks.

Tips: For the O2 housing at the downpipe side. You need 14mm swivel joint (not a universal with socket) and 12" or (2x6" extensions). Take it slow, cause its really stuck. I was nervous on each turn because it would creek. I would've quit the job if it broke..haha!

There's a decent amount of room for the o2 housing bolts at the turbo. I went through passenger wheel well and from top. The nut, however was access on the driver side and that was tough to loosen and tighten because it a tight space.

Also, make sure you install all the hoses, oil feed, and coolant lines on the turbo then install it. It's easier to install the coolant lines to the engine one.

I just hope that this one doesn't crack too...

I've seen a few manifolds pics with cracks on that side. Guess its a little heavier hotter with the turbine and o2 housing there.
My crack followed on the other side as well!!!

Just got Iveytuned this Friday. I was going to Boston this weekend and needed it for the trip. I was able to test and run the car hard for 5 hours each way.

310/341

EVO X OEM Parts
FMIC
IC PIPES
DOWNPIPE
O2 and TURBO

I have an ams catback and highflow cat also a COBB tuning turbo hose with a CBRD MAF adapter with velocity stack thing for the intake. Stock RA Boost solenoid.

For anyone interested in doing a turbo swap on RA. I'd recommend just going bigger...
Go straight for 400whp+

It feels nice. Its a big boost spike at 4 to 5k then its a nice smooth pull on the top end.
A much fuller power band than the stock RA turbo.

For right now, I'm going to wait, but I want something bigger turbowise.
I think I can wait a little longer for more technology to come out.
I'll wait until you try everything first haha!
