Help me hit 400+ whp!

I recently found out about theCBRD RAD Lite Turbocharger for the Ralliart, and I'm really considering this option. Also, I recently had my car dyno tuned atCobb Tuning, and put down about 300 whp and 340 lbs/ft on a mustang dyno with 91 octane gas and 24lbs peak boost. I was wondering if I go with the turbo upgrade, how much added hp and torque am I looking at? Finally, will the stock SST tranny be safe for such an upgrade? Or I will have to go with the 400 or 500 hp rated tranny upgrades. I am also thinking of switching to E85 which will definitely add more power to the engine, so will I have to also do modification to my engine block? Please let me know.

My current Engine Mods:

UR cat back exhaust
UR testpipe
Cobb Down pipe
Cobb Access port with Dyno tune
UR UICP
UR FMIC
UR custom short ram intake
Cobb BPV

Dyno Numbers:

296 whp and 340 lbs/ft

You're not going to hit 400 WHP with the RAD lite. You should be able to get another 50-60hp over the stock turbo, max. You'll need a bigger turbo to make those numbers. Sorry to break it to you but it just won't push enough air to do it. The stock SST should take about 350 torque with some additional cooling but you can do 400hp on it no problem.

Thanks for the reply splattj. With Rad lite, UR LICP, and E85 I think I could come pretty close to 400 which is basically what I am looking for.

I had a Rad Lite and made 330whp which was completely maxed out with every part available for the Ralliart.

It was so high-strung the tune I ended up blowing the turbo and head. You'll never go more than that on a Rad Lite.

400whp takes some pretty intense modifications. Your stock clutches will slip too. You're going to need an X sized turbo and an EF2.5 minimum, full X downpipe/3" exhaust line, 3.5" FMIC, big intake, injectors (stock Ralliart injectors can't handle fueling more than 340whp if I'm not mistaken), upgraded fuel pump, SSP 500 kit + seals.

That would be a start above. That should get you about 400whp. Build the head and forged internals optional sleeved block, you can go bigger to 450-500whp safely.

FP-Green or MHI turbo, headstuds (mandatory), oil cooler, better tranny fluid, good tune. Done.

You are not getting there with the RAD. It just won't happen.

You can go further than 350. Again, it is all in the tune.

Oh, oil cooler...big must!!

As for Rad Lite, I had 350whp by the power sucked. Terrible graph. I smoothed it to be more even across the board and 334whp was the golden ticket.

Then again, it's pretty easy to blow that turbo to smitherines. I've quite a few of them going, including mine. They can make the power but I don't think the little Ralliart size can handle the constant abuse.

Got it! I just don't want to go through the whole EVO conversion, would rather just stick to Ralliart specific parts. I guess I will have to lower my expectation. The parts that I will be trying to buy in the near future will be:

-RAD turbo upgrade
-AMS tranny oil cooler
-SSP 400 HP tranny upgrade
-UR LICP
-Complete UR fuel kit conversion including 800cc injectors, adapter, and filter (E85)
-Headstuds
-Tune

Are there any other direct bolt-on replacements for the Ralliart stock turbo besides the RAD Lite? If there are, I'd like to know the makes/models of other options on the market.

Is this something that a lot of people want? (just gauging interest)

I just took a second look at the RA manifold. There are a couple of really interesting options for that thing. I think that I might buy one on Monday. I cannot believe that I didn't see this before. I will make a thread soon about my ideas for that thing.
