mileage problems with gst map

I had uploaded the 93 oct Gst map w/boost pill for my 09 Ralliart. I have noticed my gas mileage has tanked pretty hard with no change in my overall driving habits. I have the map, boost pill, test pipe, IX diverter, and HKS drop-in. Full, my tank reads only 180 miles to empty. Before the map was hitting 300-320. Is this normal for this map? Car only has 28k miles. No cel

Same thing here. I know the tune leans out your car a bit over stock, but my mph took a big hit. At first I thought I was just enjoying the tune, and driving more aggressive, but I specifically used a full tank not flooring it and staying out of boost as much as possible. Still was way less then factory tune.

I get the fact this is car is not good on gas to begin with, but this is my dd and it almost makes me want to switch back because of the extra cost with gas.

Although many others have reported an increase of mpg after the tune. So I have no clue

There are no changes to the fueling part of the ROM that would change MPG when the car is running off fuel trims (cruise, idle, light throttle).

Many have reported better MPG because of leaner fueling in boost.

I would try going back to the stock ROM and indeed see if your mileage improves.

Mine has always run with better economy with the GST tunes. averaged 10.1ltr/100km stock on the freeway, now runs at 8.5ltr/100km. Been running this tune for 9 mths or so now and love the extra power (up 30kw on stock) and better mileage

Do us all a favor and compute mileage the real way. Divide miles driven by gallons used.

Your mileage indicator dropped because you reflashed the car and the ETACS then redid it's computation on the current data.

Do a complete fresh tank with the gst map and then another with the stock map and try to keep similar driving habits to see what happens. I got from gst map with the stock pill and AMS pill better mileage by far literally another 30-50miles per tank compared to stock as a rock.

Mine seemed to have improved. I get at least 3 more days before needing to fill up compared to stock.

There is no point to doing it the "real way" when my fuel gauge reads 90 miles til empty at a half tank. Noticeably worse mileage.

Curious of the cold weather has anything to do with it. This winter has been brutal here in Chicago. I did do my flash right before the weather got real cold. Might be a dump question but who knows???

Yes, there is a point, that is the accurate way. The fuel mpg in the gauge cluster isn't as accurate.

Did you even read my post above?

Hundreds of people have used the basemaps I created. The fuel mileage drop you are stating is not a constant with the basemaps.

Of course, if you aren't happy with the free basemaps, then stop using them and get something else that makes you happy.

The basemap shouldn't make it worse. If you think there's issue with your fuel consumption it's most likely in your head or something wrong with the car.

It's all about how you drive. Driving speed limit and limiting boost is the only way to save gas. The AWD doesn't help with mileage, but going 60mph does. Shifting at 2000rpm and not lugging the engine in 6th gear too.

I was never able to get more than 24mpg in mixed highway/city driving. I've gotten 28mpg for long distance trips primarily highway miles.

Even with crappy winter blend gas I'm able to still go 240 mpg and filling up 11 gallons = 21.8mpg. My MPG meter on the infometer always displays > 19 mpg. It's never accurate.

I am perfectly happy with the performance aspect of the basemap. I just need to figure out this mpg thing. Its frustrating knowing im one of the few whos mileage plummeted.

Seriously, try out the actual mileage equation. It's simple math, you can't argue with it (nobody can) and it will tell you the truth of what is really going on mileage wise.

Divide miles driven by gallons used.
