Stock Ralliart BOV

Does the stock BOV need upgraded for any performance benefit? Examples: Stock Catalytic Converter = most restriction or Stock Intercooler = subsatisfactory cooling after extended uses or stock air filter = poor design?

Does anyone have any gripes about the stock BOV?

Not an issue until you tune and then start to exceed stock RA boost levels. As you approach EVO X boost levels - then you need an EVO X BOV...

You should be well on your way there, if not there, with those mods. I have just the BP and tune, and I got an Evo X one just to be sturdy. I have noticed that it's more steady and reliable, as it doesn't leak nearly as much as the plastic one did, if at all.

First thing when I got my RA I swapped out the stock one for the HKS ssqv3 and found that it holds boost at a steady 10lbs stock and now it holds 21lbs to redline whith my set up that I have now

the Synapse DV is the best, from what I've been hearing. I have no proof of this, but just from customer reaction and popularity.

I actually Broke the nipple off the plastic stock bov while replacing it with one from the evo x. My boost is no where near the threshold for needing an upgrades bov, but I'm with the other guys in that it's cheap plastic and it's better piece of mind to just upgrade.

Having many 2g turbo eclipses, I saw all to well how the cheap plastic bov's fail and leak over time!

Not really. It might be a LITTLE louder, but I can't really tell a difference. I also did it just for the sake of better efficiency. Leaks are bad!
