I bought a used 2010 RA with 48000miles for 2 month, love it. But recently, when I drove it on highway I found that when I was in 6th gear, at rev 2000, slightly pedal down, it won't acc and the rev drop to 1800 then to 2000 again, with strange sound from transmission I think. The rev will haunt from 1800 to 2000. If I gas more, the rev will not climb fast, still with strange sound. I think it's clutch slipping issue? Any ideas to fix it?

 

Take it to the dealer since you've only had it for 2 months and at the mileage the trans is still covered til 60k I believe.

 

I think the warranty is expired because it's 5years/60k warranty, which means 5 years should be the deadline. I think a clutch replacement should fix but I don't know the cost of a clutch kit and labor

 

Go to mitsubishi cars.com register your Vin and they will tell you how much longer your warranty will last...I have 3 months left

Can you please run a test for me.

- Bring the car to a stop.
- Flick the transmission mode switch up, so the dash display changes from NORMAL mode to SPORT mode.
- Hold that switch up again, for 3-4 seconds, and watch the dash display.

Does it change to say "S-SPORT"?

Or does nothing happen after 3-4 seconds?
