Post Replcaing Rallliart Seats with Recaro

Hey guys just finished installing the evo x seats and airbag light is on. I expected this and took it to the dealership to get it reset. While I'm there the tech tells me that the OCM needs to be switched out from the old seats because the vins don't match.

Since I know a few others people switched theirs out, I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues. Also if anyone knows if the airbags will still deploy in the meantime would be nice to know.

Well since you feel the need to be a dick lol .... yeah, I actually found this after searching for awhile. I was on my iphone at the dealership when I asked, and you cant bring down the search menu from it. So oh well

Since I also asked about the airbags deloying i figured I would leave it and not close the post in case somone commented on that part.

Thanks for the info though.

$1080.00 or something including shipping. Considering shipping is in the 200 range, depending on the location, the actual seats were only 800. If you get them shipped definitely make sure they insure it, because the first set I bought was destroyed by the shipping company.

I bought them from a guy in the For Sale Section, but you might have a better chance finding some when the 2010 get bought up since most of the 08 owners got rid of theirs already.

The dealership will more than likely do it for you, but expect to pay for an hour or 2 of labor so around 160 for just the seat install. Then on top of that you will need them to do your airbag reset which was 75 or so at my dealership.

The install was super easy so I would just do it yourself, there's even a detailed how to on the lancer forum.

To be honest that's not even a bad price from the dealer. The seat comes in 3 parts and for all 3 I was quoted around 4,000 per seat. Thats 8,000 for a set, no idea what they are smoking. If I had to pay anything over 1500 for the set I would have went the aftermarket route. The damn airbag alert would have drove me crazy though.

jebus..8k for recaro seats...I mean they are great seats but I don't think I would ever imagine myself spending that much for a seat. This is a side note; going off subject here but I was thinkin to trade my red ralliart in for a white one and pay the difference and go through the finance part again...they said if i would to paint my entire car white it would lose great value...is that true? I mean i plan to keep the car so it doesn't really matter to me. Would it be cheaper to just get the car painted? What you guys think the cost would be to paint the entire outside white? I wish I never got red :[
