Request: Black Mirrors & Door Handles

Hello all, I'm new to these parts and have been searching for any threads that remotely discuss the changing of the door handles and mirrors on a RA. I am hoping that the below picture will better illustrate what I have in mind. This is a concept shot I found and photoshopped to be roughly what I want to do with my car.

I see that some of the "lesser" trims of the Lancer offer black door handles, I really want this on my RA and am hoping it's possible with DIY "stuff". Same goes for the mirrors. I'd rather not buy new handles and mirrors with factory black paint

Simply a matter of removing those parts and getting them painted...

Or if you're doing them yourself, sand them, prime and paint.

I'm sure you can also pick up some door handles/mirror covers from a DE and install those in place of the RA ones. See if there's a DE owner that's willing to trade you

I stopped into my dealer today to get some warranty work done and inquired into what the best options would be, they are telling me to get the parts painted. It's $195 per door handle to get "new" black ones and some ungodly amount per mirror.

This project might have to wait for spring, it's getting extremely cold here in NY and I have no garage of my own to work on this kind of thing. I've got some "acquaintances" that have a shop, I'm just not sure about paying somebody to do DIY stuff. I'd prefer to do it all myself, so I know it's done to my expectations.

look for a web-site called woodcraftdashboards.com or something like that...

i remember seeing a kit that are "covers" for 07-08 outlanders door handles.

the RA and outlander have the same door handles.

Does Plasti Dip really just come right off if you want it to? Anybody got examples, possible with before/after pix?

Plasti Dip is literally spray rubber basically. It comes off fairly easily because it does not bond well to the surfaces it goes on (generally metal). This is good if you want to remove it, but bad if you want it to stay. I would never do this to a part like a door handle that is used all the time, as that will look horrible after a day of good use I bet.
