Custom Iphone/ any phone mount

So I've been really wanting to use my iphone for music in my Ralliart, but I wanted something that looked a little more permanent/oem and would not make me have to keep a bunch of wires in the glovebox, or with the little rca jack flap open all the time.

So here's what I used:

RCA to 3.5mm adapter($4.00)
RCA cable extender I just had sitting around
Type S universal mount from Pep Boys($9.99)
Double sided mounting tape (2.00)

I took off the "carbon fiber" trim piece
then took out the radio
then removed the rca little box by pushing on the tabs on the top and bottom then just pushing it out toward me
Then hooked it all up and snaked the wires off to the left side of the trim piece where I dremeled a little bit out so it would sit flush

I just used the double sided tape to put it on there and I'll let it sit in the sun a bunch to test it out otherwise I'm going to hard mount it with a bolt.

It came out great and is exactly where I wanted to mount it. Let me know what you think.

and just for fun here's my mod I've done to the last 3 cars I've had for a stealthy garage door button. I just soldered some wires up to the contacts that control the button and hide the remote in the dash.

Haha, I thought that red button would engage the afterburners or perhaps eject the passenger. Nice job

I love my mount. I bought it at monoprice dirt cheap and works sooooo well. I wouldn't get anything else now. Locks in place and never moves. Holds firm to the glass as well.

Bought a aftermarket cable that doesn't work for tv out but worked to charge my phone while listing to Pandora!!

I was going to get a cable like that, but then realized that I hardly ever need to charge my phone in my car, so I just have a back up usb cord and one of those plugs just in case in the armrest
