Aftermarket Radio Installation Help!

I am trying to install an aftermarket radio in my 09 ralliart that i got from cructchfield. This came w/ all the installation gear but been have small issues. I am not sure if the ralliart has the same trim as all the other lancers but i assumed they were all the same.

My ralliart:

Took off the trim:[IMG][/IMG]

Doesnt quite fit:[IMG][/IMG]

This is the original bracket that i took off the stock system:[IMG][/IMG]

The kit fits perfectly w/o the system: [IMG][/IMG]

I also had a small issue but that is easily fixable which the mounting brackets for the air conditioning are different from the installation kit.

Any ideas? You think its the kit or the bracket for the dvd player? I just cant tell... anyone else had the same issues?

It's the aftermarket headunit, not your mounting kit. The stock brackets line up on there, but they sit too high, obviously. You're either going to have to modify that in-order to make the brackets work, or put together something custom to move the dvd player up into position... Don't those things usually come with some kind of universal fitment adapter thingy?

If it just needs to be raised you might be able to pick up some washers and longer bolts/screws at the hardware store.

I figured it might be the brackets or i can get custom brackets made to raise it a little (or just force it :X). This did not come w/ a universal adapter, i figured that is why they have multiple inserts on the aftermarket stereo (depending on the vehicle).

That bracket is from the old stock radio..., ill have to see if there is another universal bracket instead of taking one from the stock.

I feel stupid, just made some adjustments and was able to get everything fixed myself (with a little bit of help)... i will at least show pics of the final product. The only thing left is to bypass the parking brake to stream video while driving.
