Ugh.. keyed my own car!

Washing the car the other day when I leaned over the hood to clean out the scoop and heard this disheartening scratch. Looked down and this was the result:

Apparently there was a pocket on the front of my cargo shorts with a huge metal zipper sticking out....

My only consolation is that the piece is plastic...

I can't even see it, at least you dont have 9 inch long scratches under your drivers side door handle spaced about 2 inches apart....

I updated the pic. It's actually worse in real life.

I'm just sayin, I didn't expect that huge scratch there in my first month but i'm not really gonna baby it either. I go mtb'ing and snowboarding a lot so this thing is going out to the woods with me every weekend.

Sucks man; Same thing happened to me I went over to lean on the hood and I usually put my remote inside my pocket and let the keys stick out (pretty stupid if you ask me) and my damn hood scratched, very tiny scratch, but the whitey scratch is there and its on the back of my head, crystalized, so every single time I have to notice it .... ugh!

the Lancer's paint job is a veeeeeeeeeeeery very bad one.

Wow, I thought it was lighting, that's easily fixable. I understand your pain, its an expensive car and worth way more than mine lol.

Yeah no kidding.. Last time I slammed into the side of my 97' dodge stratus with the snowboard, the chunk of paint it took off was like, the thickness of a cereal box. I already have a nick above the fender of the ralliart all the way down to the galvanizing and the paint looks thinner than a sheet of paper.

Eh I'm just whining for the moment. Not worth fixing, the amount of crap this is gonna go through every winter out in the woods will certainly do a number on the body. I just don't want any of the metal parts being worn down to the bare steel and rusting through.

Talk about a huge facepalm moment, .

Our paint is horrible. I have a couple chips on the hood/windshield area and yes, the paint is paper thin - if not thinner....I see these spots every time I wash the car too, makes me sad every time. Cost of being a DD I guess...

If you want to talk about bad paint...let's talk about Subaru. I'm looking to get rid of my Legacy GT...Yes it is fast but it lacks many things that I am starting to find in the RA. My car looks like a graphite orange peel. ugh.

I wanted the Legacy GT and test drove a used one near my house a couple of times.
Then, I decided not to be lazy and drove about 35 minutes out to the mitsu dealership in the sticks. Sat in a black '09 RA and I was sold, forgot about that legacy GT real quick.

I've had my TB RA for about a month now. I'm finding scratches everywhere if I just take the time to look closer. A few under the door handles, one long one on the horizontal part of the back bumper and a few on the front bumper that I'm not sure how they got there.
