I highly recommend some yellow HIDs, as there is tons of space in the bumper so it is an even easier install than the headlights and it makes a big difference. I just put some 3k 35w HIDs in my fogs and they look great and provide quite a bit of extra light (plus they look good). =)

The yellow vinyl is nice because then it is yellow even when the lights are off, and it protects your lenses so they are less likely to be chipped / broken by rocks. =)

Other than the name, is there really anything different between these Nokya and PIAA bulbs (which cost 3x more)?

i went with the philips HID conversion with a 6000k bulb - the difference between stock and the HID kit is like night and day - well impressed

Yes there is i would say get a quality Hid kit kit instead but if not i would go with the PIAA bulbs , they are a little more pricey but like everyone says you pay for what you get . The Nokya bulbs have a tendency on overheating them selfs and burning harnessed/reflectors , the reason the Nokya bulbs are a little brighter then stock bulbs is because they are 100watt bulbs unlike the stock 65watt bulbs . All the extra heat is concentrated onto the harness and reflector . They also only last about 2-6 months tops .

I did know about the Nokya's running at 80w and read a couple isolated incidents of them melting wiring harnesses. I might end up going with PIAA to be safe.

For you guys that installed an HID fog kit...where did you mount the ballasts? I'm not in the mood to remove my bumper again this winter.

I placed mine right below the fog light housing inside the bumper on the flat bottom surface. Tons of room, so it was a very easy install and very clean!
