Couple RA's on the ice

Went to check out some ice racing today, grabbed a crappy cellphone pic of hotshot1's RG and my RR together. Unfortunately about halfway there, I remembered my DSLR was still sitting at home. No action shots this weekend...maybe in a couple of weeks.

Dude... come on up! Every Sunday in Oshkosh while the ice is thick enough. All you need is some cash and a helmet. Looks to be about 2.5 hours for you, though...

It was...interesting. It isnt like trying to drift in a snowy parking lot, as there is no traction at all. Also, the 0-60 time is obscenely long due to lack of traction. Studded tires arent legal in Ontario, so it was just slippage. That said, getting up to 120 on the ice is a thrill!

Another thing to note...if all 4 wheels are slipping equally (and in a straight line), the traction control doesn't kick in....LOL

A lot of the guys here run with home-made studded tires:

You can buy studded tires, but they are expensive. Or, you can take your bald summer tires and make your own. They make a weird velcro sound on the ice...especially the "drywall screw" method.
