Weekend Project - DVD/Nav install

Installed it this past week in my RA with my friend.

It was a pain to get to the factory stereo and replace the housing and I had to call Crutchfield a few times coz their instructions sucked, but fun overall nonetheless.

Crutchfield...it doesn't fit properly at the top though...small gap. I've complained, hopefully they'll come out with a fix soon.

I think the Metra dash kits also had a gap at the top. Maybe Crutchfield is just re-branding those kits

Yes, looks like it. I re-checked the installation manuals they sent and it's Metra branded.

Are there better dash kits available?

Edit: Saw the Scosche dash kit. Will look into it.

About $30 for Metra, but I got mine for free from Crutchfield with my Nav unit.
I've seen the Scosche go for about $50, still looking for a cheaper price.

Here's your options:
Obviously the JDM one is the cleanest, best-fitting option. But it'll cost you...

You can probably find cheaper ones for sale on eBay or the FS forums

I have the Scosche dash kit with my Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT, it has the same problem, a tiny gap at the top... But I got it for like $30 from Amazon (Don't pay attention to the picture, it's the correct kit). And to be honest, the gap isn't that much of a "problem." It's not like it affects how the head unit operates, or how my system sounds.
