TWM M1 Abrams Shift Knob

Since I got the car and noticed that it had a traditional screw type shift knob Ive wanted to swap out the stock knob. Ive also always a big fan of heavyweight knobs. At first I bought a Blox LE knob but it didnt fit correctly and sat very high and left the entire reverse lock mechanism exposed.

I then found TWM shift knobs and their knobs that accommodate reverse lock systems. I chose to go with the M1 Abrams RL knob in Championship Gold.

http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...hiftknobs.html

The knob has a large diameter hole in the bottom that accommodates the reverse lock mechanism. This requires a slightly different installation technique, but its very simple. The knob comes with an aluminum adapter that is threaded onto the shaft first. Once this is on you thread the knob on and your done.

The knob itself has a slight "machined" look to the metal, and the gold looks good. Overall the knob sits lower than stock by about 1/2" which I like. However the kit does come with a lock nut that you can use to have the knob sit higher if you like you just thread it on before the adapter.

Sorry for the slightly poor picture, I was losing light fast and had to get some better shots of the car. Ill be taking more pics tomorrow, so if there is anything specific you'd like to see let me know.

It goes with the overall color theme though.

Why does your wheels look photo enhanced as far as color goes to me? Nice shift knob!

It is, I had to correct because I was shooting in lower light than I would have liked plus my camera shoots very low vibrance. However, its corrected to almost exactly what it looks like in real life.
