3 vs. 1 (High Speed Changes)
First off, I would like to give big props out to Mitsubishi for their amazing vehicle engineering and design. I could not be more pleased with the quality behind the build of my 2009 Ralliart. Below are the pictures to assure me, and hopefully all of you, that Mitsubishi did an outstanding job on this vehicle.
The reason behind "3 vs. 1 (High Speed Changes)"... First off, I was traveling home from work here in New York. In the passing lane on I86, with cruise control on, doing about 65.
It was quite dark out already, roads were dry and it was about 28 degrees outside. I noted a large object (perhaps a large chunk of tire off a tractor trailer?) in the road ahead of me, so I hit the breaks. The person behind me was paying attention and was able to simple pull off to the left side of the road, avoiding any damage. The person behind him was not paying attention and tailgating. The second car plowed into my rear end at an angle (allegedly at full speed), sending me into the right lane of traffic (I blacked out at this point), was then t-boned by another car on the passenger side of my vehicle, spun some more until I was rolling backwards in the right lane, then was hit head on by another, third, vehicle and was pushed back into the guard rail.
This is when I came to, right after hitting the guard rail... After being broken out of my car via the passenger side door, strapped up to a gurney and shuttled off in an ambulance to the hospital (which was only about a half mile off the highway)... They checked me out over the next 7 hours, and I came out of this with very minor bumps/bruises. Myself along with all other parties involved, all are doing fine. The other vehicles involved were all modern (less than 3 years old) with plenty of safety features to help save lives.

Shots from the toe truck company's back yard.
To clarify, this car saved my life through and through again... 3 other vehicles hit me from nearly every angle and I'm still here.
Although I am sad to see my Ralliart go, I am glad it went exactly as it did... while all those involved are indeed safe.

I work at a Mitsu dealership and I'm using this thread as an example to any customers that ask about the safety of Mitsubishi cars. I couldn't have better proof right here.
5-Star Safety pick just seems to be thrown out too easily these days, hard to tell the engineering that went into this chassis. Glad that you're ok.
