starting 2011, US spec RA's cheapened out and don't have DRL's on halogen headlight models - all HID units have DRL

why? idk Mitsu changes random **** for no good reason

it was a pretty stealth change - hence the confusion. watched the change happen as a Mitsu salesman from '10 to end of '11. DRL just vanished from the feature list

I'm not complaining in any way, shape or form. I actually hate drl's. I like the option of being able to have my car running with the lights off. But thanks, this explains everything.

Not only that, but i see ton's of people that have DRL's forget to turn on the headlights at night. So therefor theres no tail lights on at all except when braking. I feel that as a safety concern... If there is DRL's while in drive, i feel like it should turn on all head/tail lights.

DRLs combined with backlit clusters are why (stupid) people don't turn on their lights. "Oh my headlights must be on, because I can see them and my cluster is lit up so, yeah, they're on".

LOL. At least driving in absolute darkness gives it away to people without drls

2012 base model RA, halogens with no DRLs.

I'm glad I don't have DRLs lol Had them in my 08 GTS, ugh, I couldn't stand them. My GTS was a lease so I didn't wanna spend the time and money to get jRox's bypass :P But I'm pretty sure if you have DRLs your insurance is lower because it's a safety feature.. Not positive though...

that would depend on the state and insurance company. I use AAA for insurance in Cali and it's not one of the discount options...

Those without the OEM HID Projectors:
2008-2010 USDM Lancers have DRL's
2011-2012 USDM Lancers do NOT have DRL's

2008-2012 Canadian models have DRL's (as far as I know)

You can use a fuse jumper and the foglights will be on all the time. I did that on when i had my Lancer. Theres a thread somewhere on here or on EvoXforums. its really easy to do
