Does it happen only at 6000rpm? Do you hear a loud whistle that sounds like a boost leak while instantaneously losing almost all boost and thusly all power?
If so, then you have the wonderful Air intake Snorkel Syndrome. I call it the ***, because that's how you feel after you figure out the problem. If you are still on the stock intake, go check your intake snorkel, which is the plastic thing that connects to the front of the engine bay and that sends fresh air into the stock airbox. If the two clips aren't there to fasten it down, then it gets sucked up against the hood, which cuts off the engine's air supply.
Go check it now, and if both fasteners are gone, get 2 out of your trunk lining. They are reusable, so don't break them. Just lightly push the center piece down, and then pull the clip out. To reuse them, push that center piece back out through the top, put the clip in, then press down on that center piece until it clicks into place.
Voila, send me $50 via Paypal, kthx.

Since it happened right after installing my MBC and JDM MR DV, I naturally assumed it was a boost leak - it sure sounds like one. Well, after a week of re-installing my mbc, dv, and piping a hundred times, a friend noticed and asked why my clips were holding the snorkel down. He had no idea this was the root of the problem, but he showed me where to get some out of my trunk and also how to use them, so I just did it for the sake of being neat. Next thing you know, my car is cured.

Now, it is my life's duty to make sure no one else has to deal with this problem for more than a day!
