If so, then you have the wonderful Air intake Snorkel Syndrome. I call it the ***, because that's how you feel after you figure out the problem. If you are still on the stock intake, go check your intake snorkel, which is the plastic thing that connects to the front of the engine bay and that sends fresh air into the stock airbox. If the two clips aren't there to fasten it down, then it gets sucked up against the hood, which cuts off the engine's air supply.

Go check it now, and if both fasteners are gone, get 2 out of your trunk lining. They are reusable, so don't break them. Just lightly push the center piece down, and then pull the clip out. To reuse them, push that center piece back out through the top, put the clip in, then press down on that center piece until it clicks into place.

Voila, send me $50 via Paypal, kthx.
omg you are the best saved me from pulling off my bumper and tighting all those hoses... i owe you one

I have no fricking idea but i know i am missing the two snorkel fasteneres that hod my snorkel down. This might be why i felt like i have been losing power in 4th gear as well. War your my hero. How much do they cost to get from the dealer?

I think you can get them from lancershop, though I could be wrong. I might be think of the ones that hold the underbelly pan on, if they are different

The dealer charges a lot for them, so I'd just get some from the trunk like I said, and then you can get some supercheap, non-reusable ones for the trunk lining at Autozone.

If you can get them at Lancershop for a decent price, then check that out, but I haven't seen them listed anywhere yet.

It's not a whine; it's an actual high-pitched, LOUD whistling noise. Sounds exactly like a huge boost leak, but it's really just the air getting sucked in through a very tight space between the snorkel and the hood. Same concept as a boost leak really, just in the opposite direction...
