well they already said they would and deduct some money off the price, but i know that the VW R32 seats are leather and they hold you perfectly....i havent been able to drive an Evo with the leathers because there hasnt been any at the dealership, so thats why i am asking fr your input since you drove them. i just thought that the leathers would look a lot better, yet still hold you since they are Recaros.

Alcantara looks nicer and suits the car more. There is more grip with that material anyway. I'm not against leather in general, but on the Evo it doesn't really work that well and the leather they use isn't very good anyway. I think it's stupid that you have to get a sunroof and leather just to get HID headlights now (unless you buy an MR).
leather is found on just about every sports car. Porsche, ferrari, lambo, viper, vette.... the list goes on. When the leather is new it is slicker then the regular seats but once it is broken in it is very nice.

First impressions:
Steering - so light and quick. Man I've missed it.
Interior - very roomy, forgot how big it is inside. Seats look/feel awesome, but that's the end of the highlights! Guages are just too small imo.
Exterior - new taillights are awesome. New stock rims aren't bad looking. Love the new front bumper. Love the Electric Blue; much deeper/richer than my WRB Sti.
Mods planned (some tentative):
Full 3" TBE, Piggy-back (Utec/Xede if they ever come out). Boost guage, flip-up receiver, JL subs, amp, HUD unit, 18" rims. Maybe more, maybe less.

Negatives - nothing new here, got some CEL's already as well as some squeaks and creaks already. Bought an exhaust that's too loud and droney for me as well. Most of which can all can be pretty easily fixed. Fustrated with the stock turbo lag, but figured my custom tune will drastically help that out as well.
I've noticed myself driving at higher speeds again, like I did in my 03. I attribute this to the rush of boost, the fact the power climbs with the rpm dial, and to the fact there's a lack of power down low. So, good and back there.
The exceptional handling vs rough ride tradeoff has been well noted. Same ol, same ol here. I really didn't miss the horrible turning radius this thing has though! PITA in parking lots.
Since most are concerned how the STi and Evo stack up directly, I've come up with the following:
Overall, between the STi and Evo, here's what I would take from each to build the better car (in my opinion):
Engine: STi low-end torque, Evo top-end hp. Fuel-economy pretty equal. Ease of installs kinda cancels out with basic bolt-on's.
Exhaust note: STi; hands-down boxer rumble better vs Evo droney
Interior: Evo IX black alcantra seats, Evo sunglasses pocket, all STi quality interior but with a different color option than the light blue standard. STi gauge layout with larger tach and speedo. Heat/Cool controls a draw. Evo interior seems much larger although lower quaility parts. STi DCCD control better than Evo's 3 simple ACD choices. When amped, Evo standards speakers (non-ssl upgrades) actually are a little better with treble.
Exterior: The most subjective probably. Evo IX front-end (non-hoodscoop), and a STi rearend that is wingless. Just what I'd like personally.

guess you couldn't be bothered to read the posts right above yours where he said HE ALREADY BOUGHT A IX.
