What's more funny is that you don't know the difference between their, they're, and there.

Testdrove an IX MR the other day. Didn't really have much difference (I know what's different). I can't justify it at nearly $38k either.

Any Evo owner happen to drive the Mazdaspeed6 by the way? Just curious what it's all about. I know it's not as ***** fast and it's heavy, but was curious.

Think I have it nailed down. If I trade in to the dealer, going with a new Evo IX. If I can sale my current car outright (it's up for sale now) I think I'm going to pick up a used 05 STi. There's one for sale local that I testdrove.

Anyone that has owned an STi now own a modded Evo IX that can speak up?

For anyone following my situation, I've decided to go with a brand new Evo IX. Going to sign paperwork in the next couple days, as the dealer had to locate the one I wanted. Going with a base IX (non-SSL). Why? Because I don't need the $3200 SSL package, I'm cheap, and I don't like the slippery leather seats I sat in - as well as I like to do custom stereo's anyways.
Thanks.

Glad to hear it, I figured this is where you would be in the end. Cheers

congrats I hope your happy this time. Interior is 98% the same, ride is still harsh, the car is still noisy, and your not liking turbo lag is still going to be there but not as bad. I hope your not unhappy. As for the ssl I love the leather recaro's, the sunroof is nice, but the hid's are a must have. Good luck with your new car.

Thanks man. Wish I'd driven an Evo IX back in December before I bought the Mustang; but oh well. I wanted to try something different and I know what I like now - I'm an AWD guy. I miss it so much.

The seats are all new, so the interior is much different in that respect. Otherwise; 98% the same, yep. I'm planning on getting some sort of HUD display for the speedo, I know defi sales some stuff - works has them on their site. Also planning on getting an aftermarket dvd/nav unit I think. I really want nav, after being in a friends car that has it on a long trip, I got spoiled!
As for tuning; I'm planning a much different route then I did before. Hopefully a Utec/Xede piggy-back and exhaust. I've got about 1000 miles before I hafta worry about it!
Although I put a full TBE on my STi with only 400 miles on the clock!

Let us know how you like it. It is always a good day when another evo is on the streets.

They are more slick in comparison to the Alcantras really. Plus the ones I sat in were back-to-back and on a cold night in a cold car when leather is slick. I've owned 2 leather cars in the past and was never impressed (albeit Toyota's though).
imo, it kinda goes against the idea of a sports car to have leather seats. Same goes for a sunroof (adding weight), but lots of people do it. I add weight with putting subs in, so nobody is perfect.
