STANCE / DBA / Whiteline - front suspension setup for Auto X
LOL...Swift is a lighter spring and anyone trying to shave off that last ounce, then swift for sure.
I think the STANCE spring is more then sufficient and quality is excellent, however I went with Swift springs due to their weight. I've had the STANCE GR+ on my car for over 2 years, and loved it!
Couple of my friends ordered STANCE with Swift springs (for an additional charge).
As for the ride quality, can't tell the difference.
One of my friends actually tried out Torco coilover springs (same spring rate as stance), later put the original STANCE springs back on... he just said the stance springs felt better....<--- i know...subaru owners....LOL.
I'd say if you are hitting the high speed events regularly, Swift springs might be able to hold up to a slightly better consistency rate during the 15min run times (Time Attack)...and going ***** out that entire time.

I have a friend with Ohlins 10k F&R so I am going to see how it rides then possible get the same setup you have if it is reasonable priced.
I'm not running R-compound tires yet.
I got the roll center kit because my ball joint was going bad and didn't feel like getting the whole control arm from the dealership.
If I was to go with R-comps, I'd go with STANCE SS-D's which are valved for the high spring rates.
I understand where you are coming from.
Reason why I went to a slightly stiffer springs up front. Car handled well prior to this setup, however felt that it could be better.
Hopefully as I gain more experience I will move up to R-comps eventually.
I don't know why, but for some reason...they let STi's with Hoosiers in street mod class...grrrrr....

As far as the spring rates are concerned the evo's motion ration forces you to run higher rear rates regardless of how low or high they are. In your case when you felt that you needed more front springs you should have upped the rear rates also to keep the motion ratio the same.
What I was referring to is the fact that the Roll center correction kit will land you in class that r-comp is mandatory if you have plans to be competitive.

Possibly making it 10k/10k...
Thank you though for all the support...slowly / steadily building up the balance and suspension of this car. Power is good with bolt ons... really focusing on the balance

If you don't mind me asking how much extra was the swift springs? Also how much was the total setup. You can PM me if you want. I believe I actually talked to you about your Stances before.

hello,
We Have been getting a good amount of inquiries for this combination, and received good feedback from the locals here that have been running this setup on the STANCE SS-D coilovers.
If you are running R-comps on your cars or have a very aggressive setup, STANCE SS-D's with 12k/12k Swift springs might be your best bet.
The SS-D's are valved to accommodate such high spring rates.
Oh did I mention the rears are shy of 10 pounds!!!!!!!!

What you've done should make the car much better, but as madmax was saying, you should have gone with MORE rate in the rear, because that's how the Evo is built to handle.
I still get a significant amount of body roll at full tilt when racing, so I imagine you'll get a lot more than expected with sticky tires. However, it should still be way better than the stock suspension.
PS. I saw your last question. I road race (time trial - NASA TTS)), autox (SM), drag race (see sig), and DD this setup.

AL+ Pro's are GREAT for daily. Solid Aluminum body resists corrosion...and seeing that you're in Washington, this is a huge PLUS!
Depending on what spring rates you want, these are EXCELLENT for daily and great for track events. The valving has been set with Daily drivers in mind, so that it is not overkill on the streets, but can definitely handle whatever you throw at it on the track.
For the drivers who need more aggressive valving for the R-comps we have the STANCE SS-D's. These are not intended for daily or street.
The SS-D spring rates are setup as: 12k front / 14k rear
that awesome.. but here washington state don't use salt to melt road we use sand.. plus a lot rainny season..
im def look buy one! u can pm me price? I don't think im get ssd now.. maybe next year or couple year when im build into time attack evo..

Ok...
So, I've had my new setup for about 3 weeks now.
Absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!
Setting on the front coilovers are at 9 clicks from soft.
Setting on the rear coilovers are at 10 clicks from soft.
My daily commute to work is 50/50 highway and local roads. The highway I take is by far one of the worst condition highways. Pot holes which the city tried to patch up with asphalt...but made it into small speed bumps on the highway...
Local roads with uneven pavement all over the place... and few twisties...hehehe...
On the highway...car feels extremely smooth. No harsh rebound / dampers are doing their job well. Going over bumps... small cracks in the roads... goes over it smooth.... doesn't feel like your car's going to fall apart.
with all the upgrades that I did at once... combined car feels extremely flat in corners. I have to say...Whiteline RCA kit is AWESOME! Car definitely feels more stable and noticeably less body roll. As some mentioned earlier, after few days of spirited driving, I will be upping the rear spring rates very soon.
Car understeers much less, however I think I will be going with the Whiteline front sway bars to eliminate even more understeer. I think the rear stock sways are fine for now.
I will be taking my car to Gingerman Raceway hopefully in two weeks and see how the car performs.
