so basically what went down. i was at FIR racing everything was going good for 7 races running a consistent 12.90. then on my last race of the night it took off good held strong for about 3/4 of the race then once i hit 80 MPH i just lost power and it bogged down. then it started billowing smoke out of the exhaust. nowhere else and no fluid dropped anywhere just the exhaust. i tried to tap the gas to keep it running but it didnt help. then once it died i tried to see if it would even start again and i got nothing. to help understand just how much smoke i did happen to have my go pro on and here is a video of it. anyone have any clue what it could be? its sitting at PSI right now but i would like some thoughts early just to calm my nerves a little. thanks!

That hose provides a boost reference to your fuel pressure regulator, with no boost reference at WOT... after multiple passes...
I'm going to venture a guess and say we're dealing with a failure due to your motor going lean. We'll need to see the innards tho.
As far as what I saw from the vid, the smoke looked like a head gasket failure, but I've also seen a damaged turbo oil ring made that amount of smoke. Because it's night, hard to tell if we're dealing with burning oil or burning antifreeze. What did the smoke smell like?

I had that same thing happen, which resulted in a melt-down on the dyno. There is a warning thread somewhere around here that urges people to check the boost reference line.
However, my car was undamaged by that and had decent AFR's afterwards. That explains the smoke but not the failure to start.

a blown head gasket (depending on where the gasket failed) could prevent a restart. If it failed between pistons the air would just slosh back and forth between two pistons, and never build compression, which would prevent a start.
A failed piston could do it too...
I think i would check compression check before pulling the head off.

I had that damn hose pop off during a 3rd gear street pull. It was obvious when it went lean from the lurching action. Fixed that with double zip ties. It makes me cringe to think of staying WOT after that hose popped off.

As others have said, the FPR hose probably means you were running lean every pass and eventually holed a piston or lost a head gasket. There is a small chance you just popped a coupler and got a massive boost leak causing the smoke... not sure what color it was though.
BTW, this is one of the reasons why any turbo car should have a wideband......
