How many Knock Volts is consider bad for the engine?

How many Knock Volts is consider bad for the engine?
m i detonating? i m seeing 2.7V of knock on knock Volt in my AEM EMS is that normal? this was done by 4th gear pull from 80-115mph. thanks in advance.

I would need to see the log file, but 2.7volt is pretty good knock spike IMHO, definatly not engine noise. I back down the timing if I see knock voltage jumping up above significantly over the line.

It really depends on the car. On a stock motor EVO I would say you are knocking. I have logged some noisy built motors where 2.7 wouldn't be knock. I don't think this is the case though. Some cars are louder than others. Check the noise curve and look for spikes.
Also, when you log, do so with the knock control turned on and pulling timing above your set voltage limit. Sometimes the logger will not pick up and display a noise spike, but it will always display pulled timing.
I'll allow a max of 2.5 volts after 6400rpm on my car.
