Yes if you want total control and to be able to get every last pony out of your setup then the AEM is for you. If you don't care and just want a improvement then no you should just go with the UTEC or Xede. They are the best piggy backs and most popular out on the marked for the EVO.

To make the conversion you would have to change everything back if you are converting to MAP and reinstall the stock ecu to pass your inspection on the AEM. If you are keeping the MAF on the AEM you just take it out and reinstall the stock ECU but with the UTEC or Xede all you would have to do is load back the stock map or on the UTEC is hit the switch becuase the stock ECU stays installed in the car, its signals just get altered by the piggybacks.

Hope it helps you out.

I am currently doing some dyno testing on our RS, big thread in Engine section on it. I put the EMS on the car last week with all the factory sensors in place, just plugged the box in, that's it.

Still working on it but I am going to be curious what the difference is with and without the MAS in there.

You can watch there to find out in the next week or so if you are really interested.

Install with the factory sensors in place takes all of 3-5 minutes.

The cat isn't as restrictive as you would think it is. At 316 whp we only gave up around 8 whp with our highflow 3" cat. Reason enough to keep it on the car.

We have the wiring, detailed, for the MAF to MAP conversion. If you bought the AEM from us just give us a call, we can do it over the phone for you.

I did some testing with it. The car made 323 whp with Stage 1 and the EMS. Aside from the datalogging capabilities I would say that at this stage of the game that our re-flash is a much better choice.
