Also did you check for any leaks at idle up to boost. I have seen many evos sputter like that up top in the rpm with a huge boost leak behind the stock manifold. It is somtimes overlooked.

That is why I am asking to see some logs. That will be the only way I can help you if you want it. Or else just give me a list of mods (complete, every little thing done to the vehicle) and I will send you a base file to try.

What compression?
What size valves?
What brand injectors?
What kind of MAP sensor?
GO to the fuel map. Top right hand side it will say logging. Start logging a hard 2nd and 3rd gear pull. When finished, go back to the logging parameter and set stop and save. Name it something and send it to me.
Then put the AEM Cal and the AEM LOG file in an email to me.

okay...i'm contacting my engine builder for the info....i have RC injectors...750's.....i emailed you the log that i just ran...i ripped around the block and tried to keep my foot into it even though it was sputtering like a bastard...let me know what you come up with....why would new spark plugs make it not sputter and then a little bit later start sputtering again?...does that make sense?

Wayne-o. Does it run better when you put new plugs in because of the engine cooling during the process? Does it run better when it's cooler?

He is destroying the plugs. That is why the car "seems" to be ok once you change them

Also raceferrari, That log was done just last night?
Please don't drive your car. Get me the file cal please.
Thanks

Also just tell me what kind of map sensor you have or just take a pic. I will work with that.

Question

So how exaclty were you able to see that "he was destroying the plugs," just by looking at the cal file? The reason I ask is because I have encountered a similar problem right after installing HKS 280* cams but when the sputtering occurs its more of a 'cut' then anything. Looking at a log, I can see that the A/F ratio is beginning to fluctuate a little in the upper RPMs and then goes lean.... I'm thinking its a fuel pump problem but I didn't have that problem before the 280*'s. Maybe the dealer screwed up the cam install... I dunno

Wayne's wasn't "going lean". Did you throw more fuel at it after installing the 280's? If not...uhhh....that could be why it's going lean. Mine did the same thing Wayne's did as well, we had to gap the plug down. It has something to do with the AEM and dwell setttings, blah blah blah. The easiest fix was to gap the plugs down (mine are at .024) and runs to 28psi no problem now. IT does sound like a revlimiter when it happens though. (no spark) I didn't have the problem with the UTEC, and as soon as I boosted with the AEM EMS it happened. Same with Wayne.
