For what he is doing, does he need or want that timing adjustment. He already has a prior flash, so I assume his timing has been modified already. I still think AFC is a better option then flashing a car every time you make a change, or change the fuel your running, change the boost ect.. I think flashes are great for stock cars, but beyond that I'm not too sure.. shrug. I don't like how everyone jumps on a ecu flash bandwagon.

I do already have a flash but it is mail in flash and I will be adding upgraded injectors and alcohol injection before I get a custom flash. I dont think the SAFC would be as good for tuning with the alky as a custom flash and I may see some gains over my mail in flash regardless of the alky and injectors simply because its a custom tune.

Also, I would be having AMS tune the car since Im not at all familiar with the AEM.

What you said here, to me, means the best route for you will be a flash most definately. Don't bother with an SAFC...they are great for fine tuning, but when it comes to a flash...they don't compare.

People jump on the flash bandwagon because its better! Its that simple. The mail-in flash is a BASIC upgrade that advances timing and leans out the AFR since the factorys is so rich. However, its made for every single EVO out there so its far from aggressive, remember every car is different. The custom flash is tailored to YOUR CAR with your mods.

This has been discussed many times. I see what youre saying, Im not trying to be a boner here. I think the AFC is great and its incredilbly easy to use, but in this guys case, he doesnt know how to tune, so even if he bought the AFC for $300, he'd have to pay someone else to tune it!!!!! Which would make the price of the flash, and with the flash he will make more power.
