post a internal log of rpm, throttle, engine load, ign timing, knock #1 volts, o2 #1, knock #1 retard while being logged @ 250/sec.
a log will show us whats going on, your recolection is only a story.
where is your map sensor mounted to the plenum? is ther much line length between the sensor & plenum if your not using a mounting block from buschur or rre?
