problem detected..............aem evo 8

I have the aem tunned and it works perfect, at the dyno with: evo9 turbo, hks cams 272,264, full exhaust 3", bigger intercooler, aem computer, 1000cc, fuel pump, e-boost.....made at 24-25psi boost drops because of the internal wastegate.... 365 hp....

the problem is that when I run the car between gears the engine drops power... if I hit it in 3rd for example to 7,000-7,500 rpm and shift to 4th drops power doesnt keep up... my question is that is there is something at the aem that need to be on or off for this to happend....?

any help will work...

i don't know if it's turbo lag but the power doesn't keep up.....I don't think that an evo9 turbo is going to have turbo lag.... track time... 12.5 114mph....... with that problem.

You are going to need to be more specific about your issue before anyone can help you out with it. The AEM doesn't have any problem making plenty of power, most of the fastest evos in the world and US use it.

I really don't think is the tuning because the engine runs perfect but once you try to shift gears hard..... it makes that power drop between gears...
The time track is 12.5 @114 with that problem if you take out the .1 seconds that the engine drops power or a little more we are talking about .5 or .6 less in the time, that should be 11.9 so it's not bad for the power the engine has... I'm going to check the fuel at low boost to check if there is needed of more fuel.... i;m not using the knock sensor.

Basically, you're saying you don't think it's a tuning issue because it has a tuning related issue. If there is a hesitation after shifting then it is a tuning issue. Unfortunately I don't know how to help with that, but that does seem to be the issue that you're describing.

Maybe it has something to do with the over kill on the injectors. 1000cc?!?!?! My buddy's 2.3L with a GT35R runs 1000cc. You shouldnt be. Change them to something like a 680 or 780 injector, retune and see how you like it. Putting the AEM in at your level of mod's is a lil hasty, an ECU flash would be plenty fine for your level mod's. Granted if you are going with a much larger setup really soon, it would be ok. I would also turn the boose down to 22psi and add timing.

Track time seem right in line with the Mod's you have. Do dont need more fuel, just less. You should run the knock sensor, you dont want to cost yourself an engine because you didnt see the knock count, right?

well the thing is that I alredy tunned it with a reflash and with the aem made 11 hp more and the curve looks better all the way from botton to top...
I know that 1000cc are way to high for my mods but they are working fine and the engine works great... the thing is :what I can do is put back the stock inyectors and tunned it with those and see if it makes the same problem. I don't like the knock because I notice that with the knock ON- the engine doesn't open fast but without it is other thing. The engine opens different and you see the difference. I check once with the knock on and there is no knock at all. I have experience in tunning engines.

Regardless it is the tune that is in the car, if you are looking for more response you are probably battling a few issues together such as, Injector timing, Ignition timing, throttle accel pump and Throttle injection correction. When you jump off of the throttle it might be dumping a bunch of fuel that is not needed. This can cause a really drunk/lazy effect in between gears. You can start sharpening up those tables and get some of that response back.
