Yet Another Hard Start Thread

I've had my car running with EMS for quite a while now, and have always put up with the hard start issues, but now I've decided to try to figure it out. Would any of you experts in EMS starting mind taking a look at my .cal file to look for anything that can be improved? I have made all of the changes mentioned in the EMS section already.

BTW, my car isn't horrible like some people's 5 minute start times, it just takes like6-8 cranks sometimes. More annoying than serious.

It's good to just turn the key on and wait a few seconds while the fuel pump kicks in. Have you tried this trick yet?

One thing to check is the Idle Park Target, this should be set around your cold startup rpm % value to help with an easier non stumbling startup. If it is too high or too low it can help result in stumbling hard start or overly high rpm start.

It it takes 6-8 cranks it also might be your crank injector time being too lean. More time % is needed to get that burst of fuel to help fire up.

Yep, I wait until the fuel pump is done priming every time. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll take a look at this. I don't really have a stumbling issue, however the crank injector time thing souds feasible. Where do I find the crank injector time setting, and what should it be approximately? Thanks.

Just keep reading. Sounds as simple as your crank injector time table

Mine makes no noticeable difference whether it is cold or warm. It might even start slightly better in cold weather.
