wb 02 sensor placement

im getting ready to install aem ems do i need to get another bund welded in my dp or can i just replace the factory o2 sensor with the wideband one ?? seen some cars with it some say go some say no what would you guys do ?

no you leave the factory one alone. have the bung welded at a 1:00 position about 36inches down from the exhast manifold.

I have done it both ways the sensors seem to last longer in the o2 dump than in the down pipe either way you should be fine.

race gas will shorten its life, anything to rich will shorten it.

Race gas will indeed shorten the life of the sensor but some tips to help preserve the life helps. Such as be sure to let the sensor warm up before starting the car and it does seem to help if the sensor is up in the front O2 position to keep it hot. Now as you know you don't want it too hot but with my sensor in the front O2 position I have had better luck when running race fuel. Just something to think about.

Thanks For All Your Input Guys Ill Give It A Try Up Front It Like 5 Inches From The Turbo But It Might Work Well I Plan On Mostly Running Pump Gas Then Some C-12 When I Take Her To The Track I Also Would Like To See A 11.7 To 11.5 Afr With Aem Lucky If I Drive The Car 5k A Year So It Should Last Me A While

i have mine in the 2nd o2 sensor bung and im running meth and i only get apx 4-6 months out of my sensor

it has to be close enough to keep it hot and not allow the gases to cool and colect on the sensor.... if your running rich that will shorten the life alot as well. shouldn't matter race fuel or not as long as its tuned well

acually getting alex from dogbox to tune my car on ems
so the orginal location should be good?

I took my front o2 out and put my wideband in its spot. About 2-3 inches from the turbo outlet. Readings are wayyy better. The response to throttle inputs are just perfect.
