Never had a problem with the AEM and the mini battery. Take a voltmeter and check the battery if thats your concern.

I never have a problem at start up unless its below 32 degrees or so. Have you tried taking out the small battery and starting it with and other with more cranking amps? If you have the same problem, its probably a bad calibration.

You need to mess with your cold start on your AEM. I had the same issue, it takes a bit to get it right since the car gets hot so fast.

Im thinking of getting the trigger disc, it should help a lot.

As it gets colder the car cranks a lot slower. I start to have problems around 15 degrees. A bigger battery would help cold starts.

I will say it as many times as needed as long as I get the message through. The mini batteries are weak if you don'ty drive the car every day, they are weak for a big stereo system and for many other things. I have had 3 of them in various cars and they are weak by nature.

Just make sure you learn and you are aware that these mini batteries are mainly made for weight savings and that there is a compromise on performance.

I don't have the time to argue this but just be aware, I done it been there. Any other normal battery you can actually don't drive the car for weeks and months and you can crank the engine right up, with the mini batteries you will be lucky if you can restart the car after 3-4 weeks(sometimes less).

By the way, I wasn't bashing the AMS product, it is a great battery for weight reduction and will work fine if you use it daily My .2c

The mini battery doesn’t hurt performance. They just have some flaws when it comes to cold weather, storage properties, and stereo systems. Besides that they work great.
