In theory

Now I'm wondering what would happen if someone was to take a evo to get e checked with an aem in it.

What will it do if someone was to connect a scan tool or diagnostic scanner to an Aem... stuff like catch on fire, just not connect, tell the scanner to F*** off, anything...

In theory of course, not that anyone should actually be thinking of trying this.....

The diagnoses port does not communicate with the EMS, so if you were to goto an emission booth and they plug into the diagnoses port it would simply not connect.
We tried this a few years ago and it didn't work.

so basicly if you put an ems on your car and plan on still driving it in a state with strict emission laws your screwed cuz it wont work with their emissions tools.. right?

well, it dosnt matter if it connects, i just wanted to make sure it wouldn't fry the AEM.... you can just tune your car at the rpm they test at to run stoich..... IF!!!! they will shrug off the cool not connecting, and just rev test the car.... I think if i catch the lazy guy working they might just let my by with the other test, I've heard of ppl doing it before... +++ E85 technically I would pass without a cat even........technically>?>?>

All that happened was when i went to test I played dumb when their scan tool wouldn't connect, then the called it a downgrade, ran the tailpipe test. car blew zeros 0% on everything on E85 tuned lean at the test rpm. Passed no problems, just learned not to 2step a car with a real cat on it. Lol it shattered the front half of the cat.
