Wideband output to AEM EMS
Wideband output to AEM EMS
Hey guys I just installed an AEM Gauge-type UEGO wideband in my car. I wired it up correctly, I set it up correctly defining the sensor in the wizard in the aem software. My question is this..... When my gauge reads 14.2, my EMS is showing 13.9, so its about .3 lower than the gauge, this number seems fairly linear as when the gauge shows 13.2 the EMS shows 12.85 How do you sync them up so the gauge and ems read the same. I know its something to do with the gain setting, but am I setting the gain in the EMS or messing with the gauge? I checked over on the AEM forums but there is alot of mixed info and unanswered questions.
Is the gain going to be voltage based? If so, would it be best to measure the voltage coming in from the sensor at the gauge and then from the signal wire at the EMS and then add the difference in the gain? I would imagine you would do this with the engine off so the voltage would be somewhat stable. It seems too easy....lol
Which Aem wideband do you have? If you have the one with the 2 plugs on the back of the gauge with engine off and ign on unplug the plug going to the sensor. Look at o2 #1 or #2 whatever your using. The gauge will read 14.7 or 14.8 change the gain so your Aem is reading what your gauge is.

Yep just unplug your sensor from the wiring harness car off with ignition on. Do this at the sensor connection. Than your gauge will usually read 14.7 than adjust your gain in the EMS to match and plug the sensor back in and you should be good to go.
