Question Need to know if I have a bad sensor

How do you guys know or determine if your AEM EMS is running with a bad sensor...??
I just ask because how comes that your car is working just fine and then your cold start turns to crap...!!
About a month ago my car was starting very nice and clean, and couple of days later, it began to take longer to start. Now, if I don't tap on the gas pedal after starting the car doesn't stays on... it starts to bug, hesitates and dies..!!

Your comments are much welcome and must appreciated.

Key on car off. Engine Load should read right around 0PSI or 100KPA. Air temperature should read near ambient. Coolant temp should read near ambient. Start there.

Assuming you have an AEM wideband. Typically it will stay fixed on a number and just move +/- 0.2 up or down. If you are using decel cut off (injectors turn off above a certain RPM if zero throttle is read by ECU), you can test it by simply running your car to say 3500rpm and stepping off the throttle and letting the engine decel in gear. The wideband should start going lean to the point where it will display "--"

Which wideband is the EMS reading? If you have the Innovate WB you should be running the output of the Innovate into the EMS o2 #1. If the before situation is true, the OEM o2 sensors do nothing more than serve as plugs to prevent an exhaust leak from their respective bungs. If they are in good working order or not would not affect startup nor driveability...

As far as I know the EMS is not reading Wideband O2 output from nowhere . So youre right, my stock O2 sensors are been use just as plugs. My Innovate Wideband is independent from the AEM EMS system...

So, what other sensor could be bad...??? AIT...?? the intake pressure sensor ..??' is there a low temp sensor ..??

Thanks...

Correction, if your wideband is NOT wired to your EMS, then there is a high possibility that the stock o2 is. But then again I don't believe a knowledgeable tuner would enable any type of correction utilizing the OEM narrowband o2.

Air intake temps here in Puerto Rico fluctuates so little that I personally in my car have it zero'd out, both in fuel and ignition corrections. I don't know how your map is setup. You is tuning your vehicle?

OK... my car is going from bad to worst ...!!!

I haven't had the chance to play with the settings, so, nothing had been done yet. Now, everyday is taking longer and longer to start..!! I really don't know why this is happening .. One thing I had noticed (and is very annoying) is that while cruising, the car is running extremely lean, at low RPMs and at idle also...
Maybe this is the cause of all the problems... and is getting worst and worst each day...

Any thoughts ...??

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Low fuel pressure combined with AEM's infamous stat sync issues could combine to be a nightmare.
