New AEM harness to help pass emissions?

I was at a local car meet...not any specific type of car and i over heard a group of guys saying that AEM is coming out with a new harness that gives you a OBDII port and it allows you to pass emissions because basically it shows all emissions test have been run and have passed. Which in my State PA would be huge i would think so you dont have to try and switch back to stock ECU or keep your mileage under 5000. Now i dont know if it was for a certain platform but im just wanting to see if anyone else heard about this?

just because its illegal doesnt mean it wont be done. I used to own a wrx and i didnt have a cat but the Cobb Access Port tune allowed my car to pass emissions no problem. With out it the check engine light would be on. I wish i would have payed more attention to the conversation because there was other useful purposes of it besides passing Emissions.

Although it is highly unlikely, because it probably is illegal, I wonder if they could get away with it by stamping the product with the classic "off-road use only" stamp.

Technically, it should be illegal for companies to manufacture and distribute test pipes that replace the catalytic converters, but they're for "off-road use only". Even the AEM EMS should be considered illegal due to it allowing owners to operate their vehicles with zero emissions systems.

Although a harness like this would probably fall into a different category, with the specific intent to allow people to pass emissions without the proper equipment.

So was this a myth or not? I just bought a car with AEM EMS and I can't get a sticker obviously. Our cars run cleaner than every diesel on the road.

MYTH. Not going to happen.

Best bet is to get a stock ECU for the car and convert it back to get your sticker. Then put the EMS back in the car.

Wait, you can't pass emissions in PA without OEM ECU? That's horrible! If the car passes the sniffer test here in AZ, and you have no CEL, you're good to go!

No, no, I think my car would pass with the OEM ECU. I was asking if there was any update about the OP's inquire. I'm going back to the stock ECU this week.

Yeah, I'm asking whether or not you can pass emissions in PA with an aftermarket ECU. aka AEM EMS.
